Sandwich

Sandwich is a flared sans-serif typeface family that emphasizes the horizontal strokes of the letterforms. It aims to subvert the conventions of thicks and thins without entirely throwing them out of the window. It is a versatile family designed to be used both in small contexts such as a guitar pick or liner notes and in display contexts such as an album cover.

Mew is an aspiring polymath. She has always been fascinated by the intersection between humanities, design, and engineering. While studying philosophy, she became curious about about how the form and design of combinations of written characters generate meaning and emotional associations through the lenses of aesthetics, cultural studies, and philosophy of language. Now she works as a software engineer, writing more code than prose. To her, type design brings all these disciplines together. When not making type or coding, she plays the electric bass.
